Printable Peace Symbol Optical Effect

It took a while to get it set up so I could do these types of optical effects in a 300 ppi printable. I'll bet this would look just nifty printed on Astrobrights paper!

The effect uses diagonal lines in opposite directions to create a maze like geometric look which has to be seen just right to see the word or image. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Halloween Printables- Dots and Stripes

I'm wild for Halloween. My whole family is really, hot cider, costumes, as Buffy Summers put it "Come as you aren't". My daughter starts planning her costume in about May. My son on the other hand usually waits for October 27 to think "Oh.. that's this week!". My husband wears his superhero costume teeshirts with masks that week, and I pull out all my favorite Halloween jewelry and stripey socks for the month. And I start singing it's the most spookiest time of the year to the annoyance of my whole family. So! I hope you love Halloween too, and enjoy today's printables. One is a printable sign for Halloween lovers, and the other is a 2x2x2 inch cube box to match.

CRAZI sign, DIY and zombies

It's been a very zombie week around here. The above is a graphic that I made to help promote Microcosm Distribution's End Of the World list. Then I got a message from Bosco's saying the *autographed* poster I won at the release party for 100th issue of Walking Dead came in. (yay!!) Then the news ran a report about our local zombie preparedness exercise to tell people "Don't Shoot the Zombies"

So, I decided it was a sign that to make a printable poster for zombie craft fans. The poster is in very plain black and white so you can print it on whatever kind of paper you want and have fun adding ink or paint gore to it if you'd like.

C.R.A.Z.I. is a silly little acronym I came up with for this project. Crafters Rebuilding After Zombie Invasions.

It seems like in every generation, there are people who discover The Prophet all over again. In my case, it was one of my mother's favorite books and she had the record as well. I have her copy. My husband got interested in Kahlil Gibran's poetry after watching History Detectives.
Published in 1923, this collection of poetry on a series of subjects has been translated into many languages, and has been constantly in print.

Quote art and the new FB layout

Lately, since the FB layout change, it seems like some people are posting photos a lot more. Things they find funny, quotes they find meaningful, but since my friends list has a lot of overlap, that means that I get the same photos on my newsfeed sometimes 3 or 4 times in a day.

So rather than reposting things that lots of people are posting, I decided to start making my own illustrated quotes and posting them to my wall. I'm making them all 4x6 inches and decent quality. So if you'd like to print them for mini-posters, locker posters or even postcards, you can.

Happy to be Me- coloring page

The Muppets! Because of the new cover album with groups like OKGo and Alkaline Trio, I've been on a Muppet kick all day. There are even covers of two of Gonzo's songs on there. The Wishing Song from the tv show, and I'm Going to Go Back There Someday from the movie.
So that inspired this line from the Wishing Song as a printable coloring page. Just click on the image for a bigger version. The above will also click bigger, but not very big.

The Muppet Show was never really meant just for kids. Some of the humor is pretty racy by the standards back then, and children didn't care about the guest stars the same way adults and teens did. It's really aged well.

Some of the covers are hopping, happy dancing music and lots of fun, some are very thoughtful and sound very contemporary. My favorite Gonzo songs? I love them both.

Edit:  The original quote that I used was the one below. But the first sentence was added by someone else to the original quote. I remembered the "Hate cannot drive out hate" part assumed the rest was correct.
