Mini Basket for Easter

These mini baskets print two to a page and easily fit one plastic egg, or a Peep! The grass used in the photo is an edible Easter grass (Kroger brand). I also like using paper grass sometimes.

Spiral mandala to color

This is the 1000th post on Don't Eat the Paste, and I just passed 1000 reviews on Amazon.com, as well as hitting that 3 million pageviews marker. It's kind of been a big couple of weeks!

When I started drawing mandalas for this site, it was supposed to be one off thing, or an occasional thing. But it got to be very relaxing to draw them and the reception they got from all of you was just fantastic and encouraging. So I kept drawing mandalas for people to color in. A few have been licensed for other material, and they are being used by therapists, educators, libraries and even a couple museums. My readers have sent me scans of the ones they've colored in and I'm pretty sure a very nice guy in Canada named Samuel is the biggest fan of my mandalas. So when I was deciding "What should my 1000th post be?" it seemed like a mandala was the right choice. The most popular printable box on this site is one with spirals and dots, so that's why this is a spiraled dotted mandala.

Thank you, Liberty, Samuel, lemondedis, Tana (working on those tags for you!), Kai, freebird7100, MJ, OMazingKids and a whole bunch of other people that I'm forgetting for the constant support and kind comments. Of course a big special thank you to Rachel of OnePrettyThing, and to everyone who pins, stumbles, shares and tweets.

Thank you for making my little spot on the internet so much than I ever expected it would be. Here's to the next 1000 posts! Hopefully you all enjoy them.

Olive Ewe Printable Gift Box

Remember my Olive Ewe printables earlier this month? I decided it was time for a gift box as well.  Does anyone want to see this little sheep on a mandala or coloring page?

Click the image below for a larger version to print. Print on cardstock, cut out, score, fold, glue. If you have issues printing, download the image and print to fit page from a graphics program OR switch to Chrome browser, it handles higher quality images better.

Olive Ewe cute printable Valentine box

I'm working on a new craft project that will be put up probably tomorrow and planning out some printables that will use my chocolate slide box templates.

If you aren't already following me on Pinterest   you might not know my daughter is pinning to my board. We decided because we both use the same browser, it's easier to give her a board on my boards then for me to have to sign her out and sign myself back in every single time I want to pin. Her board is the Turnip Girl board, and it's full of geektastic pins. Heavy on Doctor Who of course, but also other geeky crafts or things she found interesting.

Christmas Gift Box- Curved Square

I hope you enjoy the new design! This box is kind of unusual and does take a bit of patience if you've never folded curves before. I always recommend scoring folds first, but for curved fold, you have to score. If you don't have a bone folder, other good options are a blunt yarn needle, the back of a butter knife, or my personal favorite, the smooth back of a steel crochet hook.
The other thing that's unusual about this box is that it can be closed in a variety of ways, you don't need to use glue, but you will need to use something. For my example, I used a bit of elastic cord, and put the "top" sides towards the inside of the box, and the bottom flap on the outside. You could also use a decorative sticker, a piece of tape, glue the sides, yarn or ribbon to close.

Printable Christmas Gift Box

In other news, I was recently writing a review on Amazon for a French press coffee maker, and had to delete a lot of it because I started getting really off track about the differences in coffee brewing methods. I thought about writing the whole thing here, but I'm really not sure you all want to "hear" me talking about coffee!!

Thankful, with a printable quote

Thankful to the people who rekindle the inner spirit
"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit."
-Albert Schweitzer

The image above can be shared on FB- it's posted to the Shala's Beadwork and Printables Page.

Click the image below for a larger printable version to frame and hang or to give to a friend.

This year, I'm thankful for my friends, family, and for all of the readers who make this page so much fun to do. The nice comments, encouraging emails and the people who use projects I post for acts of charity and kindness. Thank you all.
The last year has been full of a lot of grief and fear, but it's also been full of amazing moments and several of those amazing moments were from reader's comments and emails.

Thank you.

Printable learning quote and blank chevron page

I liked the chevron box so much that I decided to use the same fill for paper and if there is going to be paper, there will probably be a printable quote.

"Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young." - Henry Ford

Click on the images to download larger versions. Feel free to use the blank page as stationary, in scrapbook layouts (it's 8x10 inches), to add your own quote or in any crafty use. The quote can be printed and framed.

Other stuff- the Duck Tape contest is voting until 11/15. If you haven't voted, you haven't seen the cute mockups they made of how the designs might look on the roll of tape. Here's mine! Isn't that just so cute?

Because my chef skull design has been so popular on Spoonflower, I've decided to do some other design collections in different colors. So sometime in the next week or so, I'll be posting examples.

Please go vote for your favorite design to be made into Duck Tape on Duck Tape's FB page
This is my design entry, which I'm still just so happy made it to the finals (and thank you Kai for you incredibly kind encouragement!) You can vote daily until 11/15/12!

For people who are having issues with the size of my printables being too big for web printing, I save them in a large size for more detail. If you want to print directly from a browser, Chrome is a good option. It will scale the image to fit a single sheet of paper. Other options include saving it to your hard drive and printing from a graphics program or picking fit to page from your printer dialogue. Since the templates are set up at 8x10 inches, fit to page may come out slightly bigger than my stated measurements on US paper sizes.

This year's printable year at a glance calendar is based on the design above which I created (without the Don't Eat the Paste url) for the annual tea towel calendar contest on Spoonflower (voting 10/18/12-10/24/12). The Spoonflower version will be available for sale soon for home sewers who like the design.

Halloween Printables- Dots and Stripes

I'm wild for Halloween. My whole family is really, hot cider, costumes, as Buffy Summers put it "Come as you aren't". My daughter starts planning her costume in about May. My son on the other hand usually waits for October 27 to think "Oh.. that's this week!". My husband wears his superhero costume teeshirts with masks that week, and I pull out all my favorite Halloween jewelry and stripey socks for the month. And I start singing it's the most spookiest time of the year to the annoyance of my whole family. So! I hope you love Halloween too, and enjoy today's printables. One is a printable sign for Halloween lovers, and the other is a 2x2x2 inch cube box to match.
Click on the images for larger versions, print and have fun! The above image is shareable on Facebook either from the main Shala's Beadwork and Printables Page, or from the Don't Eat the Paste Quotes page.
