Stick Figure Saturday: Bee Yourself

 

Welcome to the second Stick Figure Saturday! This series came out of the idea that sometimes simple is very good and gives a lot of room to practice shading, doodling or different materials. 

This week's design to print and color was inspired by the way my family forages and how much we love the bees in our garden.

Sunflower and bee photo box

I think that I should start doing more boxes from photographs. This is from a photo that I took last week. I love the bright, summer colors of the sunflower and bee.

I'm using the same colors in a shawl I'm working on now. 

Bees mandala to color

It's getting all spring like and so I've been thinking about bees. I'm planning to use a variation of this design in the bee contest coming up soon on Spoonflower!

Dandelion and Bee Mandala to color

It's GLORIOUS here. The weather, my garden and the incredible amount of dandelions that comes from living in one place since your daughter was little and blowing dandelion clocks all over the place. Fortunately, I like dandelions. They taste good, look bright and cheerful, and they are a good plant for bees.

Friday was my birthday. My husband got me the camera I wanted. I'm all sorts of thrilled, and so is the Turnip Girl, because she got my old camera. There will be a summer photo post soon!
