Knotwork Frame to Color

I drew this last month and forgot to post it. It's a knotwork frame in transparent PNG format so it can be used in digital scrapping. Click on the image for the larger version to color. The opening will take a 5x7 photo and it prints at 8x10.
The photo used for my example is a Grey Crowned Rosy Finch from my personal photo collection.

In other news, I got picked to be a book giver for World Book Night. This is just a marvelous idea from the UK, book publishers and sellers are providing books for volunteers to hand out to adults who might not normally read for pleasure. My plan is to go out with my kids to our Town Square and hand the books out there, and if I get a book they haven't read yet, they will read it first. My picks were all books that I enjoyed, and my first choice is one of my husband's favorite books.

Yesterday I also won chocolate from Ghirardelli, they were having a Facebook craft contest, and I entered with this printable box that holds Ghirardelli squares.

Books and chocolate! Life is good.

Currently working on:
Instructions for hair bobbles
A crocheted lanyard- a pattern for the strap will be posted here in the next day or two

Eyelet Lace Heart to Color

I hope you enjoy this eyelet lace decorated heart for Valentine's Day. Click on image for a larger version to color.

Spoonflower Swatch Toys

Swatch toys! When I finished out my sampler, I made a few toys that fit on a swatch. A swatch is a sample of Spoonflower printing that is an 8x8 square and costs 5.00, these are best made with hand sewing on the quilting weight fabric.

The fox ornament includes two ornaments, one with a fox, the other with a deer. You can order it here.

The little onigiri toys fit two to a swatch. To sew them, you match up the nori strip and start sewing in the middle bottom with right sides facing, sew all the way to the top, then repeat on the other side. Flip it over and sew the back the same way leaving a gap for turning and stuffing.  I made the side piece a little long, so that will have to be trimmed after it's sewn.

The little moon mobile is a star and moon on a printed background. I used a little bit of that background to make the strips to hang it.

The cute little Illuminati pyramids are easier than they look. Start by sewing the two triangle sides together, then work around the bottom connecting the square base to the sides (right sides facing), leave the last side undone for turning and stuffing, then slip stitch it closed. Pink and blue on one swatch, and purple and green on another.

All the above designs are for sale from Spoonflower.

Swatch toys are fun! I think I'm going to wind up designing a set that will print on 2 swatches for juggling balls for my husband.

Mother Teresa Quote- Cross stitch pattern

"I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love." -Mother Teresa

Click on the image for the pattern, and print at fit to page. It will stitch up to be about 10 inches wide in 14 count fabric. Since it's only one color, I think shaded threads would look lovely.

When I was younger, I kept a picture of Mother Teresa on my fridge. It was a reminder to be more patient, to try to be understanding. Because she was human and did so much good, she inspired people to be better than they would be normally. She's still absolutely one of my heroes.

I'm not Catholic, you don't have to be to learn something from her.

When my daughter was a lot younger, she read EduManga: Mother Teresa (Amazon.com affiliate link), and while it's not a complete biography, it's a good overview of her life for people who don't know much about her.
